The Ages in Ephesians

In all wisdom and insight 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

Paul opens his epistle to the Ephesians with a clear statement about God's purpose in the ages.

An administration suitable to the fulness of times. What does ...

Does the Salvation of All Fulfill God's Justice?

Posted by John on February 4, 2013 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (7)

In my opinion, The only justice God requires, ultimately, is that we SEE HIM CLEARLY. Then we will SEE CLEARLY what we are and what we have done so that we can SEE CLEARLY what He has done for us. Then we will SEE CLEARLY whether we ought to(if we can) make restitution and DECLARE FULLY our culpability and REJOICE that God has FULLY FORGIVEN US. Since no one can pay for their sins and no punishment can re-mediate sins and no one can fix the fissure in the relationship between man and God but ...

Why Jesus Died

Why Jesus Died

"If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me".

Jesus was confused into thinking all men would be drawn unto Him. He was under the illusion that His death was sufficient to declare God's love to "all". He did not have our theology, and the clearer understanding of two thousand years of the re-interpretation of His words by men of learning and religious instruction.

"For so it ple...

Does God Do What He Wants?

Posted by John on February 19, 2012 at 1:25 AM Comments comments (0)

Sooner or later "God will have all men to be saved" (1 Timothy 2:4)

It is God's "pleasure" that all mankind be saved.

And "God is operating all in accord with the counsel of His will" (Ephesians 1:11).

Change it to read "in accord with the counsel of what He wants" if you like.

Because God says

Is the Bible just a revelation of God?

Posted by John on February 13, 2012 at 10:30 PM Comments comments (0)

" I have seen God, and have heard from him, and cannot make the connection between him that I love and the god pictured here in the Bible. They seem like opposing forces and it doesn't make any sense to me."

The Bible is a record of the actions of God and men. Remember, the earth was without form and void, darkness covered the face of the deep, so God said, "Let there be light". Chaos, darkness, sin and death- these things are t...

Lake of Fire

I have been studying the relationship between fire and light, and how light consumes darkness- becoming fire to darkness. "And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it". Everything that is hidden will be brought to light. Death is the veil that covers the peoples and God says, "On this mountain I will remove the veil that covers the peoples"."If our gospel is veiled it is veiled to those who are perishing"(apollumi -lost, being destroyed b...

The Hidden Gospel of Jesus Christ

Posted by John on June 4, 2011 at 7:48 PM Comments comments (0)

Jesus spoke in parables, so that "seeing they might not perceive and hearing they might not understand". The idea that the gospel is open to all is refuted by the words of our Savior Himself. It is a treasure hid in a field for which one must "sell all" and then dig. It is a "pearl of exceeding value" for which one must trade in all previous treasure. It is concealed from the wise and the mighty and revealed, only unto babes. Mysteries hidden from the foundation of the world, says Jesus. This...

You Say You See

Posted by John on May 25, 2011 at 7:01 PM Comments comments (0)

Jesus said to the Pharisees, Because you say you see, your sin remains. Jesus gives grace for ignorance, but not for arrogant blindness. Those who disembowel the word of God in the promotion of their own traditions are the blind leading the blind. They are stumbling into open graves with their followers. Understand- God has the greatest compassion for them and He cries out all day long, "Come, Let us reason together". The truth is like the sun or the rain, readily available to all. But those ...

The Potential Dangers of Systematic Theology

Posted by John on May 16, 2011 at 7:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Potential Problems with Systematic Theology -(The Logos is complete, but not completely understood)

1: Everybody has one

2: Once a systematic theology becomes set, it is rarely adjusted by adherents

   A)This results in closure to continuing revelation(Eph 1:17,18; 1Cor 2)

B)Knowledge of the system becomes the end point rather than...
